As this is your first visit to our new blog, I thought I would start off by telling you a little bit about what's going on in our lives recently. Most of you should at least know who we are!
Josh is a sophomore at BYU-I studying Exercise Physiology. He is planning on going into Physical Therapy when he graduates, in another three years or so....... He works full time (hence the reason school will take so long to finish) as a Chef on campus. He loves his job (despite the early morning hours), but then again, I don't know if there was ever a kind of work that he didn't enjoy. Josh has also recently been called to work with the scouts; a calling he very much enjoys. Last pack meeting he left home dressed as a mountain man, animal skins and walking sticks with hanging thingies and all! The boys love his enthusiasm and he gets so excited when they get excited about what he is trying to teach them.
Lauren (me) is attending Evan's Cosmetology school and is a Super Senior. Graduating soon! I hope.... Also still attending BYU-I as a Junior for the second year in a row. Perhaps I'll choose a major soon! I am also enjoying working on quilts and scrapbooks in my spare time (cough cough) and will be looking for a part time job in a salon soon. I love my work and am excited to continue learning and adding a little extra cash to our um.... savings?....account. Maybe some day we'll have a house and I can have my own salon.
Emma, our newest addition, is growing and thriving and as cute as ever! If I ever figure out how to add photos, I'll add some of her. She has recently discovered her feet and enjoys pulling her socks off to stick them in her mouth. A place where everything she gets a hold of goes! She loves the movie Cars and gets so excited when she hears the music and car sounds starting, that she shakes. She also happens to love Il Divo and Celine Dion's "I Believe in You" and a car ride without it is a car ride with crying and fussing. And yes, we have made two hour trips with one song! At least she has good taste!
As a family, we are enjoying our new toy the Wii, which we got for Christmas, but couldn't wait to get out. So, we will be making gifts for Christmas this year as our Christmas fund is already spent! We are still living with Grandma and Grandpa Risenmay. It has been a challenge but it has also been a tremendous blessing. We really appreciate them putting up with us! My schooling will be paid off soon (hopefully within the week) so we can start looking for a place of our own. We are very excited and look forward to what new challenges and possibilities it will bring.
We hope this finds you all well and happy. And once again, Welcome!
Lauren
